Law Firms
Legal Intelligence gives top law firms the opportunity to gather information about and develop relationships with candidates prior to the on-campus interviewing season. Using an internet-based process, our service provides Am Law 200 law firms with a competitive edge for distinguishing themselves in an environment where students are spending much of their time.
Top law firms are all trying to win the "war on talent" by attracting and retaining top recruits. According to a recent study, firms now spend as much as $250,000 to recruit a single summer associate. Despite this expense and effort, just 28 percent of students who are offered a job by a big firm (one with more than 250 attorneys) will accept. Further, after associates join a firm following their summer associate jobs, 40 percent of them will leave by the end of their third year and 62 percent by the end of their fourth. In order to increase offer acceptance rates and increase retention rates, firms need better branding opportunities, better access to, and better information about, the candidates they are recruiting.
When law firms become members of the Legal Intelligence community, they will have the opportunity to meet students prior to on-campus interviews and to promote the benefits of joining their firm. Participating firms will also have access to detailed student information that can assist them in prioritizing the amount of effort and money to invest in the most desired candidates.
How Does it Work?
-
Step 1:
The law school sends its students an email link directing students to register with Legal Intelligence.
-
Step 2:
Students complete an online profile. Students have the option to share their profile with participating law firms.
-
Step 3:
Based on their pre-selected preferences, students will be sent an email invitation, displaying the logo of the law firm host, to attend an online forum.
-
Step 4:
Using a web camera and the Legal Intelligence software, the law firm host will conduct a structured session for the law student attendees.
-
Step 5:
Students and attorneys can choose to continue their relationship with the firm at the conclusion of the forum.
-
Step 6:
Participating firms will be supplied with a detailed report of the Intelligence gathered from the forum.
